Ernst-August Kranz

Ernst-August Kranz (born August 6, 1919 in Krainhagen ; † December 26, 2003 ) was a Lower Saxony politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . Kranz attended elementary school, learned the blacksmith's trade and then worked in a body shop. Between March 1940 and 1945 he did military service in World War II , after a short American captivity, he returned to Krainhagen in June 1945. After his return he worked as a heating fitter until 1962, after which he worked as a freelancer for a public insurance company in Lower Saxony.

Public offices

In 1945 he was a co-founder of SV 45 eV Krainhagen-Röhrkasten, which he chaired for 40 years. From 1952 until the community reform in 1974 he was mayor and community director of the community of Krainhagen. From 1974 to 1996 he was the mayor of Krainhagen. Kranz joined the SPD in 1963, from 1968 to 1983 he was a member of the sub-district executive. At the same time he was chairman of the local SPD association in Krainhagen. He was also a member of several special purpose associations. From 1964 to 1974 he was a member of the district council of the Grafschaft Schaumburg district . Here he was deputy chairman of the SPD district parliamentary group and chairman of various district council committees since 1968. From 1975 to 1977 he was district administrator of the former Grafschaft Schaumburg district, then, from 1977 to 1981, district administrator of the newly founded district of Schaumburg , then deputy district administrator. He was also chairman of the Grafschaft Schaumburg district department in the Lower Saxony Municipal Council . In the seventh electoral term, Kranz was elected a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from June 21, 1970 to June 20, 1974. Ernst-August Kranz held a number of other offices. He was u. a. Founding member of the working group for village history and local history in Krainhagen. The foundation of the German-American Society, which was supposed to serve the continuous exchange with Schaumburg (Illinois) , goes back to his initiative. He was chairman of the company for many years.
