Orferode is a district of the city of Bad Sooden-Allendorf in the Werra-Meißner district in northern Hesse .
geography
Orferode is located at the foot of the Hohe Meissner on the Hessian border with Thuringia and Lower Saxony . The Dohlsbach rises in Orferode from the karst spring “Joggelibrunnen” and from there takes its short course to the Werra .
history
Orferode was first mentioned in 1195 with the name Arnolffrodt as a farm ( curtis ) owned by the Germerode monastery . About Arnolferode (1336) and Orfferoda (1681) it was finally called Orferode.

Orferode as a district
On December 31, 1971, the place was incorporated into the city of Bad Sooden-Allendorf as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
In the state decision Our village should become more beautiful , Orferode achieved third place in Group B in September 2000. Local attractions are the Joggelibrunnen, which was named after the story of the prison pastor Wilhelm Speck Der Joggeli , and the Meißnerblick.
