Attractions
The simple church of the place was built around 1590 on a rectangular floor plan. It consists of a massive basement with a half-timbered tower. The saddle roof with a crooked hip is covered with dark left-hand curls and has a slanted roof turret in the middle. The building serves the parish belonging to the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck.
Another point of interest is the building in the garden of the manor, which is known as the “royal balcony”. This is a historical garden house with a balcony, on which Jérôme , Napoleon's brother and King of Westphalia at the time, is said to have held a troop parade. At that time, the balcony still belonged to a building in neighboring Sooden.
