Weiden (right) in the Werra valley

Weiden is the smallest district of Bad Sooden-Allendorf in the Werra-Meißner district in northern Hesse .

Geographical location

Weiden is located in the Werra bend south of Allendorf in northern Hesse . The river separates the districts of Kleinvach and Weiden from one another. In the north, the Bebra – Göttingen railway line and the 27 federal highway pass the village.

history

The small village, which only consists of a few courtyards, used to be a farm . In 1415 it is mentioned in writing as a fiefdom of an Allendorf family. Until 1821 the place belonged to the Hessian office Allendorf .

Territorial reform

On December 31, 1971, the place was incorporated into the city of Bad Sooden-Allendorf as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
