Dudenrode is a district of Bad Sooden-Allendorf in the Werra-Meißner district in northern Hesse .
Geographical location
Dudenrode is located in the geo-nature park Frau-Holle-Land (Werratal.Meißner.Kaufunger forest) . It is located 7.3 km west of the town center of Bad Sooden-Allendorf at an altitude of 330 m . Neighboring places are the Bad Sooden-Allendorfer district Hilgershausen in the northeast, the Berkataler district Frankenhain in the southeast and the Großalmerode district Weißenbach in the west.
history
The place Dudenrode, first occupied as Dudenrod in 1267 , is a state-recognized resort and was first mentioned as a village in 1350.
The Protestant church is a hall structure built in 1788 with three to two window axes with a set west tower and an organ created around 1800. The font, dated 1569, refers to a medieval predecessor building. A parish is recorded for 1388 and a chapel for 1527. The first Protestant pastor was Sebastian Thiele from 1532 to 1562.
On December 31, 1971, the place was incorporated into the city of Bad Sooden-Allendorf.
