Ernst-Ulrich Große

Ernst-Ulrich Große (born August 28, 1938 in Geiserthal ; † August 26, 2008 ) was a German Romance studies scholar, linguist, literary scholar and cultural scientist.

life and work

Große graduated from high school in Bremen and studied Romance languages ​​and geography at the University of Freiburg . He received his doctorate in 1967 with the text Sympathie der Natur. History of a Topos (Munich 1968) and completed his habilitation in 1976 as an academic senior counselor in Freiburg with the work Text and Communication. A linguistic introduction to the functions of texts (Stuttgart 1976). From 1979 to 2003 he was Professor of Romance Linguistics at the University of Freiburg.
