Ernst Bollden

Ernst Bolldén (born September 28, 1966 - April 30, 2012 ) was a Swedish table tennis player .

Career

Due to a school accident at the age of 13, Bolldén had been paralyzed from the hip since 1979 and was in a wheelchair. At the 1996 Paralympic Games in Atlanta , he won gold in the team and bronze in the individual. In 2000 in Sydney he again won the bronze medal in individual. From 1986 Bolldén took part in all world championships, won the individual titles in 1990 and 2006 and a total of six silver and three bronze medals. Almost a year after he was diagnosed with bladder cancer, Ernst Bolldén died at the age of 45.
