Baron Ernst Christoph von Normann (* 1717 in Pomerania ; † April 2, 1770 ) was an Austrian major general.

He comes from the Pomeranian aristocratic family Normann and entered Austrian military service in 1732. He fought in the War of Succession and was present at the beginning of the Seven Years' War Major in the Infantry Regiment No. 47 (Harrach). Normann commanded four grenadier companies during the advance on Gabel on July 18, 1757. He had the city gate bombarded and smashed, climbed over the enemy bulwark, penetrated the city first and asserted himself in it. The following day he concluded the terms of the handover with the Prussian Lieutenant General Puttkamer . For this act he was awarded the Small Cross of the Maria Theresa Order . He was wounded and captured in the Battle of Breslau . Normann became an aggregated (second) colonel in 1759 and commanded two grenadier battalions near Kunersdorf and captured five flags. On September 3, 1760, Arnsdorf then defended with three battalions . In the battle of Torgau he was so distinguished that Field Marshal Daun mentioned him with praise. In 1763 Normann became a real colonel and in 1768 major general. He died on April 2, 1770.
