After the end of the Second World War he was appointed by the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture as a representative for youth hostels and initiated the establishment of the Bavarian Youth Committee (from 1947 Bayerischer Jugendring ). When the Bavarian State Association for Youth Hikes and Youth Hostels was re-established in 1946, he became chairman again and remained in office until 1949.
