Ernst Esche (agronomist)

Ernst Victor Walter Esche (born January 14, 1895 in Lübben (Spreewald) , † September 5, 1969 in Kiel ) was a German agronomist .

Life

Ernst Esche graduated from the Humanistic Gymnasium in Berlin in 1913. From 1913 to 1914 he studied medicine and philosophy in Munich and Freiburg im Breisgau. From 1914 to 1919 he was in military service ( First World War ). In 1919 he returned to the university and studied agriculture in Berlin until 1920. From 1920 to 1922 he was an agricultural laborer. From 1922 to 1925 he worked on his doctorate in Berlin . He was then employed by the Brandenburg Chamber of Agriculture in Berlin from 1925 to 1928. During this time he was promoted to Dr. agr. PhD. From 1928 to 1933 he was a consultant at the German Agriculture Council in Berlin. On August 1, 1933, he became managing director of the Institute for Milk Utilization of the Experimental and Research Institute for the Dairy Industry in Kiel and its director on March 1, 1935 (until 1962). From 1943 to 1944 he was a dairy manager at the Reichskommissariat Ostland and from 1945 to 1946 at the Regional Food Office in Hamburg. From October 1951 to 1963 he was honorary professor for dairy farming at Kiel University .

Esche was married and had four children.
