Ernst Ewald Albert Hofferichter (born November 12, 1809 in Groß-Glogau , † after 1872 probably in Glogau ) was a German politician .

Life

The son of a firm born inspector, studied Hofferichter after visiting the school Glogau law in Halle and Breslau . During his studies in 1831 he became a member of the Old Halleschen Burschenschaft Germania . Because of his fraternity activities, he was arrested in 1835 and taken to the Berlin bailiwick and interrogated, but then released on bail. In 1836 he was sentenced to six years of imprisonment and incapacity for office. The sentence was reduced to one year in prison in 1837. After his release, he founded a company in Glogau and worked as a businessman. In the 1840s he became a city ​​councilor in Glogau and was head of the city ​​council several times . In 1848 he was elected member of the Prussian National Assembly in Glogau , where he joined the “ determined left ” who were on the side of the 1848 revolution . In 1850 he was elected to the Glogau municipal council as the only candidate for the democratic party . At the end of the 1860s he worked as the office director in Glogau.
