Ernst Günther Techow (born February 5, 1899 in Berlin , † probably after 1981 in Munich ) was a German film production manager , screenwriter and film company manager.

Life

Techow had received an officer training and served at the front in 1917/18 before he switched to writing in 1923. In 1926 he went to film, in November / December 1936 his first practical contributions (as a short film screenwriter) can be proven. In 1937 Terra hired him as a dramaturge. One of his most important productions in the early 1940s was the propaganda film Achtung! Enemy hears with! , the singer-biography The Swedish Nightingale with Ilse Werner and Joachim Gottschalk and the painter tribute to Rembrandt . Later he also worked as an editor.

After the war, Techow worked as a dialogue writer for German versions of foreign films, initially as part of the 'Motion Picture Export Association' (MPEA). After the MPEA ceased operations (end of 1949) he became the founder and owner of 'Arena Film'. In 1950, together with Josef Wolf, he founded the dubbing company Ultra-Film , to which the later director Alfred Vohrer joined in 1953 . The company lasted until 1982, then Techow's trail disappears.
