Ernst Theophil Maier
Ernst Theophil Maier, called Maier-Crusianus (also Ernst Gottlieb Maier ; * 1651 in Lustnau , † 1727 there ), was a German lawyer and university professor.
Life
Ernst Theophil Maier studied in Tübingen from 1666. He was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD and accepted a position as university secretary. In 1676 he became an associate professor there, and in 1695 a full professor of law ( canon law and pandects ). In 1697/98, 1703/04, 1708/09, 1714, 1718/19, 1723, 1726/27 he was rector of the University of Tübingen. His portrait therefore hangs in the professors' gallery in Tübingen . He was also the ducal-Württemberg councilor.
