Ernst Guth (born February 24, 1893 in Pinkafeld ; † March 16, 1986 in Oberwart ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and master carpenter. From 1953 to 1956 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Live and act

Guth first attended elementary school and after four classes moved to a community school, which he also attended for four years. He learned the trade of carpenter, completed four semesters at the Polytechnic Institute in Strelitz and also passed the Matura. In 1930 he took over his father's business. On March 19, 1933, even before the NSDAP was banned in Austria, Guth was accepted into the NSDAP, local group Pinkafeld, with membership number 1,610.365. He was involved in the hoisting of the swastika flag on the chimney of the ring furnace in Pinkafeld on January 2, 1934 and was punished for this with ten days' arrest. In 1944, according to the historian Michael Wladika, he must have been guilty of a serious offense according to the guidelines of the NSDAP. The files do not reveal the nature of this offense. He was expelled from the NSDAP. After the Second World War he was a member of the Pinkafeld municipal council, and he was also the second mayor of Pinkafeld. In addition, he was a member of the National Council from April 2, 1953 to June 8, 1956, where he held a mandate from the Burgenland constituency. In addition, Guth was involved as a representative of the carpentry trade for Burgenland and was district inspector of the district fire brigade.
