Ernst Höpfner

Karl Friedrich Ludwig Ernst Höpfner (born June 3, 1836 in Rawitsch , Posen , † February 28, 1915 in Göttingen ) was a German educator and senior civil servant.

Life

Höpfner, who had a doctorate, worked as a senior teacher in Neuruppin and became a lecturing councilor in 1894 and a real secret senior government councilor in the Ministry of Culture in 1906. He went to the University of Göttingen as a curator , where he worked until his retirement on January 1, 1907.

Höpfner had been married to Helene Plathner since 1864 and to Else Zoepritz, widow of the historian Bernhard von Kugler , since 1902 . His daughter Johanna (* 1874) married the mathematician Arnold Sommerfeld .
