Ernst Hasler (politician)

Ernst Hasler (born April 21, 1945 in Langenthal ; legal resident in Leimiswil ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ).

Life

After attending primary school in Strengelbach, Ernst Hasler completed an apprenticeship and became a site manager and master builder. He then ran his own construction business and was President of the Aargau Builders Association and Vice President of the Aargau Trade Association. Ernst Hasler is politically influenced by his membership of the SVP and his work as a councilor (state accounting commission, building and planning commission).

Hasler has been politically active since his time as a local councilor in Strengelbach (AG) from 1978 to 1990. From 1981 to 1995 he was a member of the Grand Council and at times president of the SVP parliamentary group and the cantonal SVP. He was a member of the National Council from the Swiss parliamentary elections in 1995 to his election as a member of the government in 1999 .

Ernst Hasler has been Head of the Health and Social Affairs Department of the Canton of Aargau since 1999. In 2002/2003 he was Landammann and was again in charge in 2007/2008. During his time as a government councilor there were projects in health, social and security as well as consumer protection, such as overall strategic health policy planning, the introduction of the “Aargau model” to change the financing of services in hospitals, and new ways in long-term care to ensure the independence of the elderly As long as possible, as well as the expansion of preventive measures in various areas, case management in the social area, the risk analysis for the canton of Aargau and the safety platform as well as the new Animal Disease Act. In the elections on November 30, 2008, he did not run again and resigned from the government council on March 31, 2009.

Hasler was President of the Swiss Conference of Military and Civil Protection Directors and a member of the Conference of Cantonal Health Directors, the Conference of Cantonal Social Directors and the Regional Conference of the Governments of Northwestern Switzerland.
