Ernst Hendrik Buchner

Ernst Hendrik Buchner , initially Ernst Hendrik Büchner (born May 2, 1880 in Amsterdam , † April 5, 1967 in Arnhem ) was a Dutch chemist.

Life

Buchner received his doctorate in 1905 at the University of Amsterdam under Hendrik Willem Bakhuis Roozeboom ( Gedeeltelijke mengbaarheid van vloeistoffen bij stelsels van koolzuur en eene tweede stof ; German: partial miscibility of liquids in carbonic acid systems and a second substance). In 1909 he became a private lecturer, in 1919 a lecturer and in 1946 an associate professor for propaedeutic general and inorganic chemistry at the University of Amsterdam. In 1950 he retired.

Buchner dealt with radiochemistry, among other things, especially at the beginning of his career.

He was the editor of the 20./21. Edition of the textbook on inorganic chemistry by Arnold F. Holleman and Egon Wiberg / Nils Wiberg .
