Ernst Adolf Theodor Maxon (born August 3, 1867 in Landau ; † September 9, 1952 there ) was a German physician and holder of the Federal Cross of Merit .

Life

Ernst Adolf Theodor Maxon was born on August 3, 1867 in Landau in the Palatinate. After studying at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , he worked as an assistant doctor at the Munich Municipal Hospital until 1894. His first publication also appeared in 1894, and Maxon became a member of the Red Cross , for which he volunteered until 1944. In 1896 he married Emma Bregeart in Landau. Together with the surgeon Karl Hugel, he built the Vincentius Hospital in Landau , which began in 1898; The facility was opened in 1901. Maxon was made a secret medical councilor and honorary citizen of the city of Landau. In 1952, the year he died, he was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
