Ernst Muldashev or Ernest Muldaşev Rifqat Uli ( Russian Эрнст Рифгатович Мулдашев ., Scientific transliteration Ernst Rifgatovič Muldašev * 1. January 1948 in Sermenewo , Rajon Beloretsk, Bashkortostan ) is a Russian eye surgeon , writer and Tibet -Erforscher.

biography

As an eye surgeon, he is the head of the All-Russian Center for Ophthalmic and Plastic Surgery ( Всероссийского центра глазной и пластической хирургии ) in Ufa. He became known for his claim that he was the first surgeon to have a human eye transplanted to recognize rough outlines. The cornea and retina were transplanted together; the rest of the eye is said to have re- grown using the so-called alloplant , a biomaterial developed in his clinic .

The proclamation of the operation met with massive criticism in professional circles. Both the effectiveness of the alloplant and the possibility of a simultaneous transplantation of the cornea and retina are disputed.

Muldaschew also became known through his book The Third Eye , in which he sets up unusual theories about the history of human origins. He builds this theory mainly on Tibetan mythology, because of which he undertook at least one extensive research trip.
