Ernst Steinbach (politician)

Ernst Steinbach (born December 21, 1939 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and secondary school teacher. Steinbach was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council from 1983 to 1991 and a member of the Austrian National Council from 1992 to 1994 .

education and profession

After completing compulsory school, Steinbach attended the federal teacher training institute, where he passed his Matura in 1959. He passed the teaching qualification examination for elementary schools and the teaching qualification examination for secondary schools in the subjects of mathematics, biology and environmental studies, physics and chemistry as well as the teaching examination for polytechnical courses in the subjects of mathematics and natural history study advice. Steinbach was employed in the school service from 1959 and was visiting school teacher at the Federal Education Academy and lecturer at the Pedagogical Institute. In addition, Steinbach worked as a member of the examination committee for teaching positions in general compulsory schools at the City School Council for Vienna.

Politician

From 1983 to 1991 Steinbach was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council. Within the party he had the function of district party chairman-deputy of the SPÖ Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus . He was also a member of various boards of trustees and educational associations, as well as vice-president of the Association of Austrian Adult Education Centers and chairman of the adult education commission of the federal education committee. Steinbach also represented the SPÖ in the National Council from January 29, 1992 to November 6, 1994.
