Ernst Vowinckel

Ernst Vowinckel (born April 29, 1828 in Neviges , † July 30, 1904 in Mettmann ) was a businessman and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

After attending secondary school in Elberfeld , he was employed in German and English textile factories. In 1855 he went into business for himself and founded a textile factory, which he managed until 1870. Afterwards he was a member of the board of directors of the Bergisch Mines and Huts Association in Hochdahl and partner of the Society for Marble Industry, Lime and Limestone Business in Neandertal . As a businessman based in Mettmann, he was involved in local politics and held numerous mandates, e. B. as an alderman, as a member of the municipal council and as a member of the district council.

Between 1878 and 1881 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the German Reich Party and the constituency of Düsseldorf 1 ( Lennep , Mettmann, Remscheid ).
