Ernst Wagner (chemist)

Ernst Wagner (born June 26, 1907 in Graz , † June 22, 1961 in Rheinfelden ) was an Austrian chemist.

Wagner studied mechanical engineering and electrochemistry at the Graz University of Technology and the Montan University Leoben . In 1937 he received his doctorate with a dissertation on magnesite and dolomite preparations and magnesite oxide-chloride melt electrolysis . Afterwards he was at various institutes and also gave chemistry lectures in Vienna . In 1938 he joined Degussa and from 1941 was deputy plant manager at the Kalscheuren carbon black factory. From 1945 he was in inorganic research at Degussa in Konstanz and in 1950 he became chief chemist and deputy plant manager in their plant in Rheinfelden.

It was over 20 patents, inter alia, process technology for the Aerosil production, continuous process for preparing sodium perborate - tetrahydrate and the feeding liquid sodium in the production of sodium peroxide .
