Ernst Waltemathe
Ernst Waltemathe (born February 2, 1935 in Bremen , † June 9, 1997 in Bremen) was a German politician ( SPD ).
After training in the public service, he was a senior councilor. In 1956 he joined the SPD, three years later he joined the city planning office of Bremen. In 1976 he became a member of the board of the SPD state organization in Bremen .
From 1972 to 1994 Waltemathe sat in the German Bundestag . He was always elected by direct mandate in the constituency of Bremen-Ost . From 1987 on he was a member of the executive committee of the SPD parliamentary group, was a member of the budget committee and the sub-committees for reparation for Nazi injustice as well as for human rights and humanitarian aid.
