Ernst Zodl

Ernst Zodl (born March 17, 1924 in Markt Piesting ; † March 14, 2001 in Wiener Neustadt ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and tax officer. In 1979 he was a short-term member of the Austrian National Council .

After completing compulsory school, Zodl attended middle school and graduated from high school in 1942. After the Second World War he worked in the private sector from 1946 to 1948, and in 1948 he joined the financial service. He was appointed official director in 1978.

From 1950 onwards, Zodl became a local councilor in Markt Piesting and between 1955 and 1968 he was an executive councilor. He then worked from 1968 to 1974 as Vice Mayor and was then an advisory board member from January to May 1975 as a result of the dissolution of the municipal council. After that, from May 1975, he again took on the role of executive councilor. Zodl was also deputy chairman of the state finance section of the public service union and a member of the district school council. He also represented the SPÖ from February 9, 1979 to June 4, 1979 in the National Council.
