Harvesting machines are technical devices with different degrees of automation for harvesting agricultural products. They enable the harvest to be brought in rationally and reduce personnel, time and thus also economic expenditure. One of the most famous harvesting machines is the combine harvester . However, there are also machines for many other agricultural products that support harvesting work.

Harvester

Harvesting machines are understood to be agricultural harvesting machines which, due to the technical scope of their functions, have the property of taking over a large proportion of human manual labor during the agricultural harvest through technical-mechanical functions. The property of your own drive system is not absolutely necessary for this (as is the case with a self-propelled machine, for example ). In this respect, the driving function is not a necessary but sufficient condition for a harvester.

Early harvesting machines, on the other hand, were pulled by draft animals , and the machine was driven by the wheels. The threshing machines , which can only be used stationary, were operated by a locomobile or a Göpel , but later also by means of a tractor.
