Ertila Koka

Ertila Koka (born August 26, 1988 in Mirdita County , Albania ) is an Albanian pop and folk singer and songwriter.

Life

Koka was born in 1988 in the northern Albanian district of Mirdita . From the age of about five she became interested in music. Her family had just moved to Tirana . As a 17-year-old, she had regular live appearances in bars and restaurants in the capital.

In 2005 she applied to the Albanian song competition Ethet e së premtes mbrëma . The following year she took part in the third season of Top Fest , where she sang her first single Mos prit të kthehëm . The song was written by Edmond Mancaku; Koka was eliminated in the preliminary round. In the same year she took the youth festival of RTSH part. At the end of the year she had an appearance for the singer Voltan Prodani at the Festivali i Këngës .

She then took part in the fourth season of Top Fest and interpreted the song Sa do doja together with the Albanian rock group Armagedon , but dropped out again. In 2008 she reapplied for the fifth season of Top Fest. With the single Nuk Mund Të Harroj , however, she did not reach the preliminary round. Koka wrote the lyrics for the song himself.

In 2011 the single Feel the Beat was released , which reached high positions in the Albanian charts and helped the singer to become better known. The texts were written by Dr. Flori , the music video was shot in Ohrid in North Macedonia . In the summer of 2012, Koka released her debut single Moreno , which is mainly sung in English and was also successful in Albania.

The single Fluturo e lirë was released in November 2012. In July 2016, Koka released her second English-language single You Only in cooperation with the British singer Tony T. On July 16, 2018, the single E asaj was released , followed in December by the song Ne të dy , that was created in collaboration with the singer Agi Grguri from the band Fisnikët .
