Erwin Folger

Erwin Folger (born September 24, 1909 in Munich ; † March 2, 1993 ibid) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending primary and secondary schools, Folger completed an apprenticeship in a law firm, then worked as a secretary and joined the Central Association of Employees (ZdA). He was later managing director of business and employer associations as well as purchasing cooperatives, but was dismissed in 1936 for political reasons. He then worked as a real estate and finance broker. During the Second World War he was a radio operator for a police intelligence company.

Since October 1945, Folger has been an advisor to the department for labor law, wage policy, collective bargaining and arbitration at the Bavarian State Ministry for Labor and Social Welfare. In 1950 he went on a three-month study trip to the United States . He was also a member of the ÖTV trade union .

Political party

Folger joined the Socialist Workers' Youth (SAJ) in 1923 and had been a member of the SPD since 1927.

MP

Folger was a member of the German Bundestag from May 19, 1958, when he replaced the late Lisa Albrecht , until 1972. In the third and fourth electoral periods (1958-1965) he was drawn into parliament via the state list of the SPD Bavaria . In the fifth and sixth electoral terms (1965–1972) he represented the constituency of Munich- West. From January 26, 1967 to 1969 he was deputy chairman of the Bundestag Labor Committee.
