Erwin Kuckertz
Erwin Kuckertz (born December 25, 1924 in Düren ; † September 30, 2015 in Cologne ) was a German piano teacher, university teacher and composer.
Life
Erwin Kuckertz studied piano with Hans Anwander and composition with Rudolf Petzold at the State University of Music in Cologne . In 1958 Kuckertz became a lecturer, in 1970 (until his retirement in 1989) professor for piano and head of the seminar for music education at the Cologne University of Music. Among other things, he composed songs, chamber and stage music, including the fairy tale opera “A minstrel and an astronomer” Op. 7 for visually impaired children, which premiered in Düren in 1958.
