Erwin Spindelberger (born April 24, 1956 in Kapfenberg ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 2002 to 2017 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

education and profession

Erwin Spindelberger attended elementary and secondary school from 1962 to 1970 and then was at the technical college for mechanical engineering until 1971 . He then learned the trade of industrial clerk from 1971 to 1974 . Spindelberger did his military service in 1976 and studied between 1978 and 1979 at the social academy of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees . In 1985 he passed the vocational matriculation examination at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz .

Spindelberger was an employee of the Böhler Kapfenberg company between 1974 and 1983 and has been the secretary of the Styrian Union of Private Employees since 1983 . Since 1997 he has also been the regional manager of the Styrian Private Employees Union.

Erwin Spindelberger was Chamber Councilor of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees for Styria between 2000 and 2004 and chairman of the Styrian regional health insurance fund from 1992 to 2002 . From December 20, 2002 to November 8, 2017, he represented the SPÖ in the National Council.

Private

Erwin Spindelberger is married and has one child.
