Johann Georg Achbauer the Younger (also: Aichbauer, Aychbauer, Aichpam, Aichpaur, Euchbaur ; Czech: Jan Jiři Achbauer ml .; Born September 10, 1680 in Prague ; † June 22, 1737 ibid) was a Bohemian builder of the Baroque .

biography

Johann Georg Achbauer came from a family of builders. His parents were the builder of the same name Johann Georg the Elder. Ä. from Landl in Upper Austria and Anna Maria Lang from Leitmeritz . She widowed in 1683 and on March 3, 1685 married the master builder Christoph Dientzenhofer , who was responsible for Johann Georg's education. Together with his son Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer , Johann Georg stayed in Vienna, where both are said to have worked in the workshop of Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt .

With the support of his stepfather, Johann Georg received a five-year contract in 1716 for the construction of fortifications in Brno . In 1728 he expanded the St. Prokop Church in Prague by adding a sacristy. On behalf of Baron Johann Ignatius von Putz and Adlerthurn, Johann Georg built the Trinity Church in Prague's New Town from 1708–1713 together with Octavio Broggio and Christoph Dientzenhofer . 1734–1735 he and his stepbrother KI Dientzenhofer rebuilt the Church of the Nativity in the Loreto shrine on the Hradschin .

As a builder of the North Bohemian possessions of Count Harrach , the following church buildings are attributed to him:

Johann Georg's wife is not known by name. In 1707 and 1719 his children were baptized in St. Nicholas on the Lesser Town in Prague . The builder Antonio Giovanni Lurago is proven to be the godfather.
