Erythrodiplax lativittata is a species of dragonfly from the subfamily Sympetrinae . It has been proven in Brazil , Colombia and Venezuela . The larva has not yet been described. The specific epithet refers to the greenish band that can be found on the sides of the thorax .

features

Colored male representatives of Erythrodiplax lativittata have a black basic color and an average of 21 millimeters long, slender abdomen . The females' abdomen is on average about one millimeter shorter. In younger animals, the abdomen is still yellowish brown and has a thin lateral stripe on segments two and four. Depending on the region, the color of the thorax varies slightly from black to dark brown. The green band on the side of the thorax, which gives it its name, also varies in shape.

On the transparent wings in the area of ​​the attachment and on the wing tip there is a yellowish spot in young animals and black in colored animals. In both sexes, the hind wings measure an average of just over 25 millimeters and the pterostigmata around 2.9 millimeters.
