Erythrodiplax pallida is a species of dragonfly from the subfamily Sympetrinae . The species occurs around São Paulo .

Construction of the Imago

The bright reddish yellow abdomen of the males measures around 20 millimeters - the whole animal 29 millimeters. The females measure 25 millimeters, of which 21 millimeters are on the abdomen. The abdominal appendages are yellow. Like the abdomen, the thorax and legs are reddish yellow except for the black tarsi . In addition, the thorax is covered with black spots. The face of the animals is greenish yellow. The transparent hind wings are about 22 millimeters long in both sexes. The light wing mark ( pterostigma ) measures 3.6 millimeters.

Construction of the nymph

The larvae of Erythrodiplax pallida reach a body length of 12 millimeters, 7 of which are located on the approximately 1.5 millimeter wide abdomen. It is ovoid and has its widest point on the sixth segment . The abdominal appendages are about as long as the ninth and tenth segments combined. The 3.5 millimeter wide head becomes higher towards the back and is dominated by the large, bull-eyed eyes. The back edge of the head is straight. The thigh ( femur ) of the rear legs measures 3.5 millimeters.
