Archdiocese of Fuzhou

The Archdiocese of Fuzhou (Latin Archidioecesis Fuceuvensis ) located in the People's Republic of China was founded on October 15, 1696 as the Apostolic Vicariate Fo-Kien (Latin Fokiensis ) and changed its name to Foochow on December 27, 1923.

Raised an archbishopric on April 11, 1946 , Archbishop Peter Lin Jia-shan has been in charge of the archbishopric as metropolitan of the dioceses of Funing , Xiamen-Amoy and Tingzhou since 2008. Due to an imprisonment, he had to be represented as Apostolic Administrator in 2016 by Auxiliary Bishop Ignatius Huang Shou-cheng .
