The Diocese of Xiamen ( lat. : Dioecesis Sciiamenensis ) is in the People's Republic of China Located Roman Catholic diocese based in Xiamen .
history
The diocese of Xiamen was on December 3, 1883 by Pope Leo XIII. Established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate North Fo-kien as the Apostolic Vicariate Xiamen . On July 13, 1913, the Vicariate Apostolic Xiamen gave up parts of its territory to establish the Apostolic Prefecture of Formosa .
The Apostolic Vicariate Xiamen was on April 11, 1946 by Pope Pius XII. raised to a diocese with the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Foochow as a suffragan .
