Ore measure was a measure of volume for iron stone . The earlier mountain measure applied in the Nassauer Land . In other mining regions, for example in the Harz region , calculations were made using broken pieces .
The ore dimension is based on the Nassau foot of 10 inches and 0.3 meters .
1 ore measure = 2 cubic feet = 54 liters
30 measure = 60 cubic feet = 1 foot
In the Swiss canton of Schaffhausen the large bucket was used as an ore measure.
1 bucket = 12 quarters = 180 liters
