The Eschebachsche Werke AG was in 1877 by Carl Eschebach as a plumber workshop founded.

After expanding the product range to include kitchen furniture and household appliances, Eschebach acquired a plant in Radeberg (formerly Saxonia Eisenwerke Radeberg) in 1886 , which was merged with the Dresden headquarters to form the United Eschebach'sche Werke Aktiengesellschaft (Vewag) . The new plant on Riesaer Strasse in Dresden- Pieschen was ready to move into in June 1900. When Eschebach died in 1905, his company had around 2000 employees.

The company ran into serious problems during the global economic crisis and, among other things, had to sell the Dresden plant to the AG für Cartonagen-Industrie in 1931 . The company was changed to Eschebach-Werke AG . After the Second World War , kitchen furniture continued to be produced at the new headquarters in Radeberg and the company became part of the VEB Möbelkombinat Hellerau as part of the wave of nationalization in 1972 .

In 1990 the company was privatized and had to file for bankruptcy after just one year . Frequent changes of ownership and opaque financial transactions led the company to a second bankruptcy, which ended with the cessation of production in 2004.

A major fire on December 5, 2010 destroyed a large production building; in another major fire on March 3, 2011, most of the main building on Bahnhofstrasse burned down. These and several smaller fires in 2013 and 2014 led to a ruinous industrial wasteland and the gradual demolition of the ruins. In 2016 the demolition of the formerly representative main building began. The entire property is one of the cultural monuments of the city of Radeberg .

Since October 2014, Eschebach has been producing kitchen furniture again at the Rödinghausen location and trading under the name Eschebach GmbH & Co. KG .
