The ash maple near the parish church (also known as the Kaiser Jubilee Tree) is a botanical natural monument that is located in Laives in front of the main entrance door of the parish church.

history

Explanatory Board

The tree was planted in 1908 by the community of Laives as part of the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the throne of Emperor Franz Joseph I. For this reason, it is also called the Kaiser Jubilee Tree .

Due to its size, age and historical importance, it was protected as a botanical natural monument by the South Tyrolean provincial administration in 2001 .

In 2017 it was included in the list of Monumental Trees of Italy by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policy .
