Escher Museum

The Escher Museum ( Dutch Escher in Het Paleis ) is a museum in the old town of The Hague , Netherlands , with the works of the Dutch graphic artist MC Escher . The museum opened on November 16, 2002.

The museum is housed in a former palace ( Lange Voorhout Paleis ) from the 18th century, where Queen Emma lived until 1891. The museum offers a variety of private photos, prints, and working sketches that give an impression of how the artist designed surface fills and impossible geometries. A multimedia journey through the world of Escher ( The Escher Experience ) is also offered.

The museum has 15 chandeliers made by the Rotterdam artist Hans van Bentem .
