SmartAvia , until December 2009 Aeroflot-Nord ( Аэрофлот-Норд ) and until March 2019 Nordavia ( Russian Нордавиа ), is a Russian regional airline based in Arkhangelsk and based at Talagi Airport .
history
Nordavia emerged from the Arkhangelsk regional department of the then Soviet state airline Aeroflot , which was established in 1929 . From 1991 this department was continued as a state airline under the name Archangelskije Vosduschnyje Linii (Архангельские воздушные линии, in German "Archangelsker Airlines"), until in 2004 Aeroflot-Nord was registered as a joint-stock company.
Since after the crash of an Aeroflot-Nord aircraft on September 14, 2008 near Perm, a large part of the international media spoke of Aeroflot as the affected airline, which then spoke of considerable damage to Aeroflot's image by Aeroflot-Nord and announced that Subsidiary to prohibit with immediate effect from using the designation "Aeroflot" in the company name. The company has therefore been operating under the name Nordavia since December 2009 .
On March 23, 2011, the Russian corporation Norilsk Nickel took over the company from Aeroflot for USD 7 million and USD 200 million in liabilities.
The airline has been operating under the brand name Smartavia since March 2019 and thus shows the complete replacement from the airline Aeroflot .
