Espen Eriksen Trio is a Founded in 2007 Norwegian jazz ensemble consisting of Espen Eriksen (piano), Lars Tormod Jensen (double bass) and Andreas Bye (drums), the critically on a par with similar formations like those of Tord Gustavsen and Svensson Esbjörn asked and is praised for cultivating the "lost art of melodic minimalism". The trio has so far released three studio albums on the Norwegian record label Rune Grammofon . Previous appearances include the Molde Int. Jazz Festival , Oslo Jazz Festival, Maijazz and Vossajazz in Norway and the Penang Jazz Festival in Malaysia, in addition to numerous club appearances in Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain and Malaysia.
