Esperanto Island (English; Bulgarian остров Есперанто ostrow Esperanto ) is a 950 m long, 900 m wide and up to 290 m high island off the north coast of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is the largest and most northwest of the Zed Islands and is 70 m northwest of Phanagoria Island and 2.7 km northwest of Williams Point .
Bulgarian scientists mapped it in 2009. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it after the Esperanto language that same year .
