The Zed Islands ( English for Zett islands ) are a small group of islands in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . They are 1.3 km north of Williams Point off the northeast coast of Livingston Island .
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations named them after their z-shaped arrangement during the research trip to the South Shetland Islands, which lasted from 1934 to 1935.
