The Estadio Enrique Fernández Martínez was a stadium in the Mexican city of León , the most important industrial city in the state of Guanajuato .
history
The stadium was opened in 1945 and served in the season 1944/45 in the Mexican professional league recorded León FC after finishing as regular home ground after the club's home games for lack of other options first in actually for baseball events designed Parque Patria had fought. In the Estadio Fernández Martínez , which was also used for motorcycle sports events, the club celebrated its first major successes and won the first two championship titles in the club's history in the seasons 1947/48 and 1948/49 .
When the Estadio La Martinica opened in 1950 , León FC left the Estadio Martínez Fernández and found a new home in La Martinica , where they also won two championship titles.
After less than twenty years of existence, the stadium was demolished in 1964 and a shopping center was built in its place.
Although the Estadio Fernández Martínez had officially been given the new name Pilar Ramírez in the last few years of its existence , it was still known by its original name or its long-standing nickname Chalán .
