The Estadio Luis Franzini is a football stadium located in the Parque Rodó district of the Uruguayan capital Montevideo .
The stadium, located on Avenida Julio Herrera y Reissig No. 687 and inaugurated in 1963, now holds 18,000 spectators. The local football club Defensor Sporting Club plays its home games here. The stadium was closed in the 1997/98 season and reopened for the following season as Nuevo Estadio Luis Franzini .
