The Estadio Nacional de Fútbol is a football stadium in Managua , the capital of Nicaragua . It is the home ground of the Nicaraguan national soccer team . It currently has a capacity of 15,000 spectators. After the third expansion phase, 30,000 places should be available.
Connection to the university
The stadium is located on the site of the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua (UNAN). On the part of the university, this is linked to the promotion of student sports activities and competitive sports for students. Comprehensive studies and research by university institutes regarding soil composition, earthquake protection, soil protection and other aspects were connected with the construction.
