Villa Anta is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Villa Anta is the central place of the canton Villa Anta in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Caquiaviri in the province Pacajes . Villa Anta is located at an altitude of 3859 m about fifty kilometers south of Lake Titicaca on a right tributary to Lake Aripuno , through which the Río Desaguadero flows to Lake Titicaca.

Villa Anta is located between the mountain ranges of the Cordillera Oriental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east in the Andean dry climate of the Altiplano . The region has a distinctive time-of-day climate in which the daily temperature fluctuations are greater than the mean seasonal fluctuations.

Due to the historical population development, the region has a high proportion of Aymara population, in the municipality of Caquiaviri 95.7 percent of the population speak the Aymara language .
