Santiago de Machaca is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Santiago de Machaca is the administrative seat of the province of José Manuel Pando and the central place of the district ( Bolivian :: Municipio ) Santiago de Machaca . The village is located at an altitude of 3886  m on the right bank of the Río Ingenio , which flows to the Río Desaguadero and is thus connected to Lake Titicaca .
