José Manuel Pando is one of twenty provinces of the Bolivian department of La Paz and is located in the south-western part of the department. The province bears its current name in honor of José Manuel Pando (1848–1917), who was President of Bolivia from 1899 to 1904.

location

The province is located in the western part of the Bolivian Altiplano south of Lake Titicaca and borders on the Republic of Peru in the west , the province of Pacajes in the southeast , and the province of Ingavi in the northeast .

The province extends between about 16 ° 57 'and 17 ° 29' south latitude and 69 ° 01 'and 69 ° 39' west longitude, it measures 50 kilometers from north to south and 50 kilometers from west to east.
