Bautista Saavedra is one of twenty provinces in the northwestern part of the Bolivian department of La Paz . It bears its name in honor of Bautista Saavedra Mallea (1870–1939), Bolivian President from 1920 to 1925.
location
The province is located on the Bolivian Altiplano northeast of Lake Titicaca and borders on the northeast to northwest on the province of Franz Tamayo , in the west on the Republic of Peru , in the southwest on the province of Eliodoro Camacho , and in the southeast on the province of Muñecas and the province of Larecaja .
The province extends between about 14 ° 45 'and 15 ° 20' south latitude and 68 ° 18 'and 69 ° 12' west longitude, it measures up to 65 kilometers from north to south and up to 90 kilometers from west to east.
