Larecaja is one of twenty provinces in the central part of the La Paz department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

location

The province lies on the eastern slopes of the Cordillera Real east of Lake Titicaca and borders the province of Franz Tamayo in the north, the province of Bautista Saavedra in the north-west, the province of Muñecas in the west, the province of Omasuyos in the south-west and the Los Andes Province , to the southeast to the Murillo Province , to the east to the Caranavi Province , and to the northeast to the Sud Yungas Province .

The province extends between approximately 15 ° 04 'and 16 ° 05' south latitude and 67 ° 27 'and 68 ° 49' west longitude, its extent from west to east is 125 kilometers, from north to south 100 kilometers.
